The Vessel
Form before ornament.
Island is conceived less as a conventional planter and more as a contained landscape. Carved from natural marble, its elongated proportions create room for asymmetrical planting, geological elements, and large areas of intentional negative space. The vessel is particularly suited to sculptural specimens positioned away from center, allowing the surrounding mineral plane to become an active part of the composition.
